Improve load times for photos. Tips?

Hi

My setup:

DS920

2 x WD 4TB

 

I solely use Emby for home photos and videos. I access it locally using Android Emby App and Chromecast. Remote clients via Android App.

I browsed my library yesterday and it was very frustrating to click a photo in a random library and have to wait about 5 seconds for it to show up full screen, especially since I now know that Emby obtains a lower resolution image than the original (other thread)

 

What improvements can I make to improve the performance for when I click a photo to make it show full screen. Also when I click into a photo folder I haven't been in for a while or at all, then I notice my CPU goes crazy as it tries to load the photos in folder view.

Is it possible for users on the android app to get the pics as full res now when clicking them?

I see this update on my server but dont know what it means:

* Add image size display option
