Restarted emby and spinning

Logged into Emby Web.  Running version 4.6.7.0.  Said that Port Mapper 1.1.1 was installed and to restart Emby.  So thru the GUI I clilcked Restart.  Been spinning for about 10 minutes now.  Tried opening a new browser and going to the site but not connecting.  Any thoughts?

First error could be because I tried accessing the site and said it couldn't respond but not sure.  Second one not sure as I have no tray icon.

Rebooted again and now saying there is an update to 4.7.2.0 of Emby that it wasn't mentioning before.  So doing it again.  Now those errors, looks to me like it gets past them.  If you look at the next block references 2022-06-13 18:43:05.661 Info Main: tray icon exited.

First on I don't believe is Emby as it is telling something on port 8024 to exit.

Can only guess something in the process is failing and Emby shuts down but does not restart.

OK took some time to update something and running again and wants to restart again.  That won't happen right now.

So the update is there, real pain.  Can't seem to shut down Emby anymore or restart it.  Have to manually kill it each time I want to update.  Anyway, saw after the next restart that there was a ServerWMC update with a compatibility fix which was surprised to see.  After restarting ServerWMC is gone from my main end user GUI.  Looks like it was totally stripped out.  Can't find it on the config screen either now.  Is still "installed" if I look at My Plugins.

Thanks that seems odd in my brain for ServerWMC.  Isn't that plugin supposed to get everything from Windows Media Center?  So not a separate guide but everything is just talking to Windows MCE?  So when I'm looking at the guide it's the Windows guide.  When I pick a show to watch it's pulling it up from Windows MCE, when I click to record it's telling Windows MCE to record it from it's guide?

It can get everything, yes, but Emby will do the recording work now. There is an issue with guide data with the plugin but we'll get a plugin update out to address that.

I am on 4.7.2.0 and we are talking about ServerWMC not Emby for WMC.

Can you explain this a bit?  If I click into ServerWMC in the client when I actually can see a guide, and pick a show and click record, that recording will happen with the Emby engine and not WMC?  So then basically that show recording won't show up in WMC correct like thru my XBox 360 as an extender (not referring to the Emby addon for XBox 360)?

No, if you do this directly in ServerWMC, then WMC will still do that recording.  But, if you schedule a recording in Emby, then Emby will be the one recording.

Basically, the ServerWMC system is just seen as another tuner to Emby now.

ebr, I have never seen in ServerWMC the ability to record.  Just seems like a desktop app that runs and provides a gateway to MCE to see what's recording and schedule stuff and pull data.

Right - so if you schedule stuff using ServerWMC (or WMC) then WMC will do the recording.  If, instead, you use any Emby app, Emby will do the recording (just using WMC as a "tuner").

That works!!  Thank you!!  Recorded some shows as well.  Haven't tried to play them yet.  Issue I see, at least so far thru the web interface is the guide display is slow.  Numbers don't show on the left side but think they are there as they show in the iPhone app.  So I pull up the Guide in my browser and it's blank.  Then a bit shows.  If I scroll down I get like this:

 

So only a bit has populated the screen.  Then wait a few more seconds and more displays under that

Channels and Programs tabs are similar but works.

Another example, I just clicked on Recordings which there is one.  Took a count of 20 seconds on a blank screen before the thumbnail showed.
