crusher11 1101 Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 The other thing to try would be removing the date from the episode name. Here's what I have: 1
MBSki 1114 Posted June 14, 2022 Author Posted June 14, 2022 I just realized that I can't remove the metadata providers, because I have the olympics in that library which is in TVDb. I'll try removing the date though.
MBSki 1114 Posted June 14, 2022 Author Posted June 14, 2022 Removing the date didn't work. Oh well, I think I'll just update it manually. Thanks for your help.

Do you save metadata in NFO files with media, or just in the database?

I don't know too much about them, so I'm trying to understand what the benefits would be.

Otherwise you have to rescan because Emby won't shift the internally-stored metadata. Changing that setting also won't create NFOs for any existing media, it only affects new media. So it's worth doing sooner rather than later if you want to go that route. Can make bulk editing a bit easier as well, as you can just find-and-replace rather than having to manually edit each item. Turning those fetchers off will only affect newly-added media, it won't affect existing media. 1 1

I've not tried to solve this because I personally don't want sports showing up in Next Up, but do want it to show up in Continue Watching. We know the data is different to start with in the guide at least with Emby provided data. This is why we can do this from the Programs tab in Live TV. Besides Show, Movie & Sports the data also allows for breakdown of Kids and News. I notice some of my recorded media has full meta-data support and others don't. What I just did is setup a couple new series to record that are sports. I'm going to check and see what differences there are from a meta-data standpoint there are plus Next Playing functionality right after they are recorded, then after moving to a Sports library (different type: home) sand then moved into a normal TV library. That should provide some good information to look at. But overall I'd say @crusher11 has the right idea. It's just a matter of figuring out the key data that changes.
