TV Guide refresh not working

Hi,

Lately when Emby tried to refresh the guide it'll max the memory on the server. It won't download the new guide data. It has crashed the windows PC because its using so much resources, becasue of this resource drain its impossible to use clients. the schedule it to update the guide at midnight, the only way to stop this is to restart the server. However at the following midnight it'll restart the process. I've server logs attached. can you help please?

Hi,

No I didn't but It was running for about 10 hours, using 90% of available PC ram which was about 4Gb. I had to reboot the PC as it was unresponsive due to the resources refreshing the guide was requiring. It seemed stuck at 15% progress.

No it hasn't. It crashes my machine and is always stuck at 15%. This is a new issue as for several months it worked fine. The TV guide did update quickly and didn't hog the machines resources so I never noticed it before.

Hi @dermotspillane are you still having an issue with this? Have you updated to Emby Server 4.7.5?

just did a clean install yesterday and now the guide won't refresh after using VirtualTV plugin to make a couple channels. it just gets stuck at 15%

Do all the channels show something in the channel preview of the plugin settings?

do you mean in the settings when you create a channel you can hit the preview option before save? or do you mean does it show the channels listed in the virtualtv settings? THe first one is no, it won't produce a preview and when I try to view the channel from the guide it just plays 1minute of blank screen cycled over and over. It does show up as a channel that I can edit in the virtualtv settings.

 

PS i uninstalled virtualtv and the guide refreshed fine, but once i reinstalled i had the same problem.

And there's the problem. Please post some screenshots of the channel conditions for one of your channels that doesn't generate a preview.

as you can see I rolled back to a previous build of VirtualTv as a troubleshooting measure, but the settings and issues were the same with the newest version as well.

Another example that doesn't work. I can't get anything with the studio rules to work, I'm not familiar with logic operators so maybe that's where I messing something up.

Parentheses are used to group logical operators, so (WWF) makes trouble. What you could do here is: World Wrestling Federation*

Yes! That worked, and now for some bizarre reason the first channel I showed you as example seems to be working as well. I did upgrade back to the latest build before sending you the second example Idk if that had some effect on the first example.

Conclusion: Always test your channels with the preview button. If it does not work, ask for help.

is there a way to play from a specific folder if that folder itself is not a library? I know I can turn the items from folder into a collection of playlist, but I was interested in a way to play just from a specific folder.

No that's not possible. I would go the playlist route because of its user permissions.
