dethknite 45 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Server: Since one cannot restrict a user from changing their password on MB3 Server... it would be nice if we could require specific characters in the password to ensure it remains secure. ie. Require at least 8 characters in length, require a special character, require numeric, require combination of upper and lowercase characters or one of each. Perhaps checkboxes to allow multiple criteria selection. Edited September 30, 2014 by dethknite 1
Luke 42078 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 yea, we could do this at some point. 2
lolwut 16 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Unfortunately, I am against this. I setup a server to my family and that setup uses a old pc and a tv. They control it through Microsoft Remote Controller. At every restart, shutdown, sleep, they have to logon to MBT, However, it would be impossible to write a lowercase, uppercase ...etc letters ..... basically a complex password, through that remote controller. Sorry.
techywarrior 689 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I'm pretty sure it would be an option in MBS. So you would click on the user and there would be a checkbox (or perhaps it would be server wide) that enables the secure password requirement. Anyone using MBT/MBC, or even many of the apps for things like Roku, would have a hard time with a cryptic password. I don't think Luke would want to annoy a large percentage of the user base and force this on everyone. ( so don't worry )

techywarrior 689 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 we could require all passwords come from here http://strongpasswordgenerator.com/ Or we could just let you create a "pin". I saw how well that worked last time
ebr 16178 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 What we really need are two different passwords. One complex one for use by most apps and a simple one for use by only the apps that are operated primarily by a remote-control (MBC/MBT/Roku/XBMC). Support for both strong and weak passwords on a per-clien...
James W 7 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 I know this is really old but is there any plans for implementing password complexity requirements?
