strichmo 21 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Me and my family have been using Emby for quite awhile now and a persistent issue keeps cropping up amongst myself and everyone who uses it across multiple devices both Android and iOS: After setting some media to play and watching for awhile, allowing the phone to lock as normal, often when we unlock the phone again to pause/stop/change media on the Emby app it will have disconnected from the TV. The app will be in a state where the connect icon is showing disconnected but the playlist/play bar in the app is still showing the last known played media. We have to reconnect to the TV to resume control. This bug does not disrupt the actively playing media on the TV at any point. As said this happens across multiple Android and iOS devices and it feels to me like a problem with Emby timing itself out unnecessarily? This bug, whilst just an annoyance to myself and some others, it makes the service completely unusable to my parents who have no grasp for why the app isn't doing what it should and don't know how to troubleshoot it. It is a serious bug for them.

strichmo 21 Posted June 15, 2022 Author Posted June 15, 2022 I recently installed a Chromecast and tested using it with Emby instead of DLNA and Emby will still disconnect on its own on an Apple phone.
