I circumvented this by setting up a scheduled task for a library scan every hour. Agreed - there is something where we excluded 1080p I just can't remember what for lol. I just checked the code and indeed it should cater for any resolution - incl 720p. Anything below this is just tagged as SD. It just 'builds' each media item into the new title - so yes even SD HDR is technically possible haha. 1

I don't have that set - because as you say, it will run it on adding a new item BUT if you add more than one, it won't run it again. As part of an import script - after adding all the items - I then kick off the schedule (mediainfo) to process them all at once. Running as a normal schedule works as well, but you obviously won't get the results until the schedule has next run. Some improvment needed on the wording here or functionally how it works - agreed .. I'll add to the list. 1
sh0rty 717 Posted June 8, 2025 Posted June 8, 2025 @rbjtechOut of curiosity, after which criteria the plugin determines to tag a file with "Remux"? It seems just because of the bitrate or file size? I recognize to have a lot of especially 4K false positives where the x265 encoded files are still at very high bitrate and the plugin tags them as Remux, even the filename indicates x265 instead of HEVC Remux.

It's done on bitrate :- 4K > 37Mbit+ or 1080p > 22Mbit+ or 'Remux' (case insensative) in the original filename if (config.ShowRemux) { switch (typeInfo.Width) { case "3840" when Convert.ToInt32(bitrate) >= 37000000: case "1920" when Convert.ToInt32(bitrate) >= 22000000: Log.Debug("Calculated bitrate as Remux.."); sb.Append(" Remux"); break; default: // RBJ Added var itemFilename = mediaSource.Path; var stringToFind = "Remux"; bool b = itemFilename.Contains(stringToFind); if (b) { Log.Debug("Found Remux in Filename.."); sb.Append(" Remux"); } break; } } 1

Ah I see your scenerio - you are re-encoding a 70-100Mbit h265 to ~40Mbit (x265) and it's then seeing that as a Remux, which it of course is not. Unless I put it yet another option to only look at the filename, then the plugin will work for 99% of users - very few are going to re-encode a 4K Remux to 37+ Mbit for normal usage - they will use 20-25Mbit (zero percevable image quality difference) OR use the original Remux imho. 1

An option would be awesome, lot of my files are Fanedits, no Remux but with high bitrates.

lorac 118 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 I wouldn't concern yourself with that. Install the plugin and give it a go. Then open your embyserver log in notepad ++ and you should see entries related to mediainfo. 1

Ah - you are correct - that option is no longer there. I *think* the track title is now used by default on most Emby clients, so it no longer really matters as the MKV track 'title' will now be shown anyway. Worst case, you can actually turn it on via a config file, system.xml in programdata\config <EnableOriginalTrackTitles>true</EnableOriginalTrackTitles>
