deeproot 0 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 (edited) I lost my webgui for the server admin portion and I also lost new pictures and stuff being cataloged on upload. I did the database stuff listed here:https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002210894-corrupt-database Now my emby has nothing configured when loading except livetv and iptv. I still do not have the server admin area available to re-setup my datastores. NAME="Ubuntu" VERSION="20.04.4 LTS (Focal Fossa)" emby: 4.7.0.60 this happened with 4.7.0.40 error logs show nothing now but before they showed : 2022-05-22 04:20:06.278 Error Server: Error processing request *** Error Report *** Version: 4.7.0.40 Command line: /opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /var/lib/emby -ffdetect /opt/emby-server/bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /opt/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /opt/emby-server/ bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 -updatepackage emby-server-deb_{version}_amd64.deb Operating system: Linux version 5.4.0-109-generic (buildd@ubuntu) (gcc version 9.4.0 (Ubuntu 9.4.0-1ubuntu1~20.04.1)) #123-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 8 09:10:54 UTC 2022 Framework: .NET 6.0.2 OS/Process: x64/x64 Runtime: opt/emby-server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 8 Data path: /var/lib/emby Application path: /opt/emby-server/system System.NullReferenceException: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Emby.Server.Implementations.Dto.DtoService.AttachPeople(BaseItemDto dto, BaseItem item, DtoOptions options) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Dto.DtoService.GetBaseItemDtoInternal(BaseItem item, DtoOptions options, User user) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Dto.DtoService.GetBaseItemDto(BaseItem item, DtoOptions options, User user) at Emby.Api.UserLibrary.UserLibraryService.Get(GetItem request) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Services.ServiceController.GetTaskResult(Task task) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Services.ServiceHandler.ProcessRequestAsync(HttpListenerHost appHost, IRequest httpReq, IResponse httpRes, RestPath restPath, String responseContent Type, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at Emby.Server.Implementations.HttpServer.HttpListenerHost.RequestHandler(IRequest httpReq, ReadOnlyMemory`1 urlString, ReadOnlyMemory`1 localPath, CancellationToken cancellationToken) Source: Emby.Server.Implementations TargetSite: Void AttachPeople(MediaBrowser.Model.Dto.BaseItemDto, MediaBrowser.Controller.Entities.BaseItem, MediaBrowser.Controller.Dto.DtoOptions) Edited May 22, 2022 by deeproot
Luke 42078 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 hi @deeproot are you saying you deleted your library database file? If so then you'll need to run a scan of all libraries in order to re-populate it. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
deeproot 0 Posted May 22, 2022 Author Posted May 22, 2022 Yes. I deleted the database file. I can not access the admin area of the webgui to run any scans or change configuration. When I log in with emby user it behaves like a normal user account. This is what prompted me to start this journey

deeproot 0 Posted May 22, 2022 Author Posted May 22, 2022 When I click the gear top right I get: Home App Settings emby web 4.7.0.60 Change user Sign out There is no server settings / server admin (I cant remember exactly what it used to say)
Luke 42078 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Are you sure that you're signed in as your admin user?
deeproot 0 Posted May 22, 2022 Author Posted May 22, 2022 (edited) Yes. Also my database did rebuild itself over night so only thing that is wrong is I dont have the admin area. just checked policy.xml and <IsAdministrator>true</IsAdministrator> is still set on the user. Can you try clearing browsing data and/or logging in with a different browser to see if that makes a difference? Thanks.
deeproot 0 Posted May 22, 2022 Author Posted May 22, 2022 I was able to promote another user to Admin using policy.xml Logged in with that user and was able to check on my admin account. The setting: Allow this user to manage the server was unchecked on my main user. (I did not uncheck this as I have not had to perform any admin related duties b/c its been on autopilot for about a year or more) I just clicked that and logged back in as my admin user and everything is back to normal. I have now removed admin from the temp admin account. Everything seems to be ok now. Thanks for the help.
Luke 42078 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Thanks for the feedback. Apologies for the disruption.
