Emby - NFOs - Merging Versions?

Hey,

I have a pretty significant library that I've recently created .nfo's for every title with TMM. Included in those is all the artwork (in theory) other than the actor images.

It *sort* of works. However, occasionally Emby has issues with picking up the images, and I'd like a way for emby to scrape its own. The problem I've noticed is that Emby doesn't allow you to get 'new' images for these titles. They're stuck with whatever I added with TMM. Emby does not have write access to the media folder so that may be the problem. Regardless, that's a small issue but any ideas about what's going on would be welcome.

I guess to clear things up, my metadata (nfos, images, and mediainfo xmls for myself) is in it's own identical folder structure on an SSD, merged with my media library for speed using a mergerfs type solution.

What I really need to understand is how to 'force' emby to merge items with the same IMDB or TMDB ID into one as versions. I assume there's a plugin for this?  Everything has IMDB / TMDB IDs as with the # of films I have, there's always false matches if I let emby try to match them without having these nfos.

Additionally, I have a few 'tricky' films, that while they have NFOs and are all in the same folder named "Movie Name (Year)" and then the various versions are "movie name (year) - xyz" , when viewing any of those entities (before or after trying to merge them all), the 'extras' folder inside does not get recognized and added as 'extras'. Anyone know what's going on here?

Emby will alway use the local/images with media.  Even if you used Emby to change images it would temporarily change image and save to /metadata/library but local images would override that on next refresh.

Yes there is a plug if you don't want to do this manually or proper naming to auto group.

Will have to look around but believe this is a issue when grouping as extras belong to a item not the group.  Where Server auto grouping (naming scheme) works as everything is in the same folder.
