Change to subtitle rendering?

I notice subtitles don't "stick" with Safari PIP like they did in the previous version.

Oversight or unfortunate consequence of intentional change?

Hi, we've switched to custom subtitle rendering now so that we can support user-customized subtitle styles, but unfortunately, it's not possible to display these when Pip is activated.

What we should do before switching to Pip is re-activate the native subtitle display but I haven't' gotten to that yet.
