Hi Guys,

Trying to setup LIve TV using a raspberry pi 4 and Pi TV hat. I have TVheadend installed and working, xmltv file is working, i have all the channels and I can play the playlist from VLC.

What i cant do is get emby to play the stream. No FFmpeg logs are created, only embyserver.txt

Fresh install, OS is bullseye lite (aarm64), running emby-server-deb_4.7.0.60_arm64.

Any ideas?

Was this working before or new setup? It looks like you're trying to use an authenticated account in TVHeadend which doesn't work as Emby doesn't/can't pass the credentials for each stream from the playlist. Try using a noauth account in TVH.

I am using a M3U file not the url? The url couldn't connect.

I will try again with a no auth account

New build never had Live TV

It looks like it's trying to transcode the stream and among other errors in the ffmpeg log (which I can't interpret) when it eventually starts it can't keep up with the stream. The speed/fps is low.

It's also doing software transcoding. Not sure if RPi can do in hardware so it might be worth looking into that as well.

Yea if you look at the fps in the ffmpeg log it's just not able to go fast enough to be playable.

You may want to play using an installed emby app that can play it without transcoding.

It was the no auth user default profile, once set to "pass" it worked.

Although it does pause/buffer a lot. On the web and using Emby for Android.

pretty happy with it now, took a day to settle and now hardly any pausing.

although I did notice some strange behaviour when mapping channels. after saving all the channels would disappear and not return until i rebooted the server.

I made a video for you of the behaviour

embyserver (3).txthardware_detection-63788935985.txt

plus attached some logs.

Hi, that's strange. I haven't seen that before, but I think if you just give it time it will populate.

Yeah managed to get there in the end, just took many restarts.

We'll try and figure out why that happened. Thanks.
