peter2020 2 Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Hi. In the past I had an read only library path. Therefore all meta data like nfo's, subtitles, images and so on are stored in cache path. I have now a writeable library path and want to force Emby to store all the meta data in the original library path location where my movies and tv shows are stored. Is it possible or how can I force Emby to move all the stuff to my share where to medias are located? Thank you.

Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Sorry no nfo is written if you do not write with media. The information only exists in the database. If you enable nfo saver then you would need to Refresh search for missing on each library. You can test on one item. 1

There are no NFOs in cache, they are either written in media folders or not at all, it's db only then. 15 minutes ago, peter2020 said: Is it possible or how can I force Emby to move all the stuff to my share where to medias are located? You can't "move" all your metadata, but you can enable NFO saver and Saving artwork to media folders library options and Refresh Metadata on all your items. Note that you will lose all custom edits in that case, so for any items like those, you should perform that operation manually, i.e. three-dot menu>Edit Metadata>Save will trigger NFO creation, save remaining artwork separately. peter2020 2 Posted May 19, 2022 Author Posted May 19, 2022 Ok. Thank you for your replies. I thought I have seen some nfo's within the metadata folder. I will try the save trigger and will share the results.
peter2020 2 Posted May 19, 2022 Author Posted May 19, 2022 mmh. not so optimal. I tried with a small seperate Library. When I do: "perform that operation manually, i.e. three-dot menu>Edit Metadata>Save will trigger NFO creation, save remaining artwork separately. " The nfo is written to share as wanted. But it seems this have to be done on each file. This is not possible an big librarys. Now I tried a simple "rescan metadata" on the small seperate Library. The nfo's are also written to the share. But this results in rescanning all files containing library including ffprobe. This is not what I'm searching for. The informations are already in the Library. I just what to force to write back this informations to share.

peter2020 2 Posted May 19, 2022 Author Posted May 19, 2022 what a pity. ok. thank you. Maybe its possible to inculde a new feature for this. (bulk save metadata). for me it seems not a big deal. It works on single item and all the information is already in the database. I think I have to rescan the whole library and wait till done. But thank you for quick responding and for emby. i love it.
