TrueNAS Scale || Emby not able to see SMB dataset?

Hello there.

I'm new to using Emby on any Linux installation and am having some problems getting Emby to work the way I understand and want.

Here's the main issue:

After installing Emby (with nothing altered, no custom parameters or additional options) through the Applications tab in TrueNAS and going through the setup of Emby, when making a library and choose the directory location for said library I am unable to select the directory where I have my SMB share located for easy  management of media files.

Does this have something to do with Emby not having permissions to read that directory?

SMB share is located in /mnt/Main_Storage_Pool/SMB_Share

Right now the only thing im seeing when tring to make a new library is this:

My main goal is just to have an SMB share that Emby can access so I can add/remove media  files easily.

Hopefully this can be solved. :)

almost certainly permissions.  emby needs at least read permission on the folder(s)

That's what I thought too, but im not able to see any emby related user account to add to the ACL...

Hi, did you try typing in the path manually?

OK so that points to a permissions problem.

@uptivuptizScale runs a kubernetes cluster, you need to map this directory as a volume inside the pod in the storage configuration, see screenshot below. You can do this with the installation wizard, or by editing the already installed application.

You can also set the UID, GID and GIDLIST env variables to suit your needs in the app configuration, just like you would with our docker image which the app is based on.

@alucryd Thank you for the suggestion. This seems to be the fix. Now I just gotta fight with the scrapers to gather all the metadata hehe...

And a thanks to you @Luke for getting back to me.
