Emby tells me it was updated to 4.7.0.60.

1) Why isn't this build in the Announcement forum?

2) What does this mean: "Emby Server on Emby Server has been updated to 4.7.0.60"? "Emby Server" on "Emby Server"?

I've noticed some visual changes, but I would definitely like to see some updates notes.

HI, the blog announcement should be up in the morning. Thanks.

For #2 it seems to me to mean that you have your server is named "Emby server" so "Emby server" on Emby server simply means that the Emby server on your server computer has been updated.

For #1 I have noticed, a few times in the past, that updates get implemented prior to any announcement about the update and release notes can be even further delayed.
It is one of the few times that I believe Emby truly drops the ball. It is, for me at least, quite forgivable. Actually getting updates and improvements out seems to be much more important that telling people about it.

Though a plausible explanation, that is not the name of my Emby server instance (or server hostname).

In case you didn’t know, release notes are provided with each new build as seen here:

https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases

You can also just click on the version in the Emby dashboard to see the same information.

I agree it’s not as clear or obvious as an actual announcement post, but at least there’s always a way to know what’s changed.

For me it seems like the emby server isn't updating correctly. I restarted 4 times and this message is seen on the Alerts panel in the Dashboard on every restart:

Hi. Try rebooting your machine or shutdown the server and then update manually by installing from our web site.

@Luke "Update to .NET Core 6.0"  Is this a self-contained implementation?  This isn't installed on my Windows server.

Lots of good stuff in this release - thanks!

Correct, yes. Everything is self-contained.

That worked. Even though I'm in IT myself I didn't think a reboot was necessary as I've never needed it before. Thanks for the tip though.

@Luke, can you comment?

The message just needs to be updated.
