wirasuryadi 0 Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 Hi, I found out backup files created by Server Configuration Backup plugin contain zero byte files for files in userdata and profile.txt. This installation in FreeBSD. Luckily I have backup from my earlier installation in Windows and manage to replace all the zero byte files. But, since windows directory structure is different, there are a lot of manual editing is required.
ebr 16169 Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 Hi. Can you please ensure your server has write permission to the backup locations?

Yes, I have tried to re-create the directory and also gave world writeable permission. Still no luck. However, given the fact that files in directory userdata and profile.txt has data/content, it shouldn't because of permission. Correction for my post above. rbjtech 5284 Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 You must have write permissions otherwise you cannot write a file - even a zero byte one needs write permissions ..
Luke 42077 Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 There is a defect in the .net core runtime 3.1 causing this, that's why we've been unable to resolve it. If you update to Emby Server 4.7, it's now based on .NET 6 which hopefully resolves this. They reworked the file system layer in .NET 6 and it has resolved several other permission-related errors. 1
