Server Configuration Backup creates zero byte files

Hi,

I found out backup files created by Server Configuration Backup plugin contain zero byte files for files in userdata and profile.txt.

This installation in FreeBSD.

Luckily I have backup from my earlier installation in Windows and manage to replace all the zero byte files.

But, since windows directory structure is different, there are a lot of manual editing is required.

Hi.  Can you please ensure your server has write permission to the backup locations?

Yes, I have tried to re-create the directory and also gave world writeable permission. Still no luck.

However, given the fact that files in directory userdata and profile.txt has data/content, it shouldn't because of permission.

Correction for my post above.

You must have write permissions otherwise you cannot write a file - even a zero byte one needs write permissions .. ;)

There is a defect in the .net core runtime 3.1 causing this, that's why we've been unable to resolve it.

If you update to Emby Server 4.7, it's now based on .NET 6 which hopefully resolves this. They reworked the file system layer in .NET 6 and it has resolved several other permission-related errors.
