user101xy 26 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) Hi how can the problem be solved? I launch Emby on my Android TV. Then I try to play a recording. I click play, but only a still image appears. No playback happens. Even fast-forwarding only brings the picture to a standstill and playback does not start. All recordings have the same problem. Playback of the recording works on my iPhone and on Mac OS as well as on Windows 11 App. Ps. Also Live TV weren´t play. I start Live TV but the screen of Emby freeze. Emby doesn´t start playback. Deinstalling the App has not helped. Unfortunately I don't get an error message. Synology (4.7.0.39) Version 2.0.70g Registered Edited May 15, 2022 by user101xy
ebr 16169 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
user101xy 26 Posted May 15, 2022 Author Posted May 15, 2022 You enter the settings page and turn on the "Debug Options". This is not displayed in the Emby App for Android TV.

user101xy 26 Posted May 15, 2022 Author Posted May 15, 2022 Thanks I activated it. What do you need next?
FrostByte 5392 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Now with debug on reproduce your error and then click "send log" via the cog wheel on the OSD
user101xy 26 Posted May 15, 2022 Author Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) I have send the logs. What would be the next step now? Edited May 15, 2022 by user101xy
user101xy 26 Posted May 15, 2022 Author Posted May 15, 2022 Hope it could be fixed, after i send the logs of my Android TV.

user101xy 26 Posted May 16, 2022 Author Posted May 16, 2022 I have good news: To play recordings correctly I had to: Settings>LiveTV>Enable Direct Play Live TV and to play recordings correctly I had to: Settings>Playback Settings>Allow direct playing of TS files That means: problem solved. Thanks anyway! 1 1
ebr 16169 Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 Hmmm... that is interesting but it may imply an issue with ffmpeg on your installation. Were ffmpeg logs produced before you selected those options?

user101xy 26 Posted May 16, 2022 Author Posted May 16, 2022 (edited) Yes, ffmpeg logs were created on the server. Do you mean these: Unfortunately, I don't quite understand what these ffmpeg logs are all about. Edited May 16, 2022 by user101xy

user101xy 26 Posted May 16, 2022 Author Posted May 16, 2022 (edited) Yes, I had now disabled it and in the logs appears, with disabled Direct Play (Live TV), ffmpeg_remux Edited May 16, 2022 by user101xy

user101xy 26 Posted May 16, 2022 Author Posted May 16, 2022 It works only, when in the settings of Emby Live TV (Android TV), Direct Play is enabled. If Direct Play is disabled, no playback accours. ffmpeg-remux-a803c22d-9b7b-414f-9b58-95473a08e2c0_1.txtffmpeg-remux-20263741-60ad-4ef0-908d-39cd65739b54_1.txt
user101xy 26 Posted May 16, 2022 Author Posted May 16, 2022 @ebr did you want to know, if it works with disabled Direct play?
ebr 16169 Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I don't see anything obvious in the ffmpeg logs as to why it wouldn't play.
user101xy 26 Posted May 17, 2022 Author Posted May 17, 2022 Thank you a lot! It's strange though, isn't it? I still have a Telekom HDMI Stick with Android TV OS, on which it works without activated Direct Play.
user101xy 26 Posted May 17, 2022 Author Posted May 17, 2022 (edited) On the Telekom Stick HDMI with Android TV, I don't need Direct Play. But it's strange that you didn't find anything suspicious (logs) on my Philips TV Android TV. Any idea why my TV (Android OS TV) needs Direct Play but the stick doesn't? ebr 16169 Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 It could be a problem in the internal codec implementation but not sure at this point. 1
