Hi
how can the problem be solved?

I launch Emby on my Android TV. Then I try to play a recording. I click play, but only a still image appears. No playback happens. Even fast-forwarding only brings the picture to a standstill and playback does not start. All recordings have the same problem.

Playback of the recording works on my iPhone and on Mac OS as well as on Windows 11 App.

Ps. Also Live TV weren´t play. I start Live TV but the screen of Emby freeze. Emby doesn´t start playback.

Deinstalling the App has not helped.

Unfortunately I don't get an error message.

You enter the settings page and turn on the "Debug Options".

This is not displayed in the Emby App for Android TV.

Now with debug on reproduce your error and then click "send log" via the cog wheel on the OSD

Post the time and user name you were logged on with when you sent the log.  ebr will need that to make sure he has the correct log.

I have good news:

To play recordings correctly I had to:
Settings>LiveTV>Enable Direct Play Live TV

and to play recordings correctly I had to:
Settings>Playback Settings>Allow direct playing of TS files

That means: problem solved. Thanks anyway!

Hmmm... that is interesting but it may imply an issue with ffmpeg on your installation.

Were ffmpeg logs produced before you selected those options?

Unfortunately I do not know it.
I can not answer.

How can I check this?

By the existence of ffmpeg logs on your server when you don't have those options checked.

Yes, ffmpeg logs were created on the server.

Do you mean these:

Unfortunately, I don't quite understand what these ffmpeg logs are all about.

How can I enable ffmpeg?

So is it bad if ffmpeg is not enabled?

Yes, I had now disabled it and in the logs appears, with disabled Direct Play (Live TV), ffmpeg_remux

Is playback working?  If not, please attach the ffmpeg log here.

@ebr did you want to know, if it works with disabled Direct play?

I don't see anything obvious in the ffmpeg logs as to why it wouldn't play.

Thank you a lot!

It's strange though, isn't it?

I still have a Telekom HDMI Stick with Android TV OS, on which it works without activated Direct Play.

On the Telekom Stick HDMI with Android TV, I don't need Direct Play.

But it's strange that you didn't find anything suspicious (logs) on my Philips TV Android TV.

Any idea why my TV (Android OS TV) needs Direct Play but the stick doesn't?

It could be a problem in the internal codec implementation but not sure at this point.
