Nikon .NEF (Raw) Support

I'm not sure if this is related to this however i have an issue with Nikon .nef Raw Files.

I can see that emby supports the .nef (Nikon Raw) files and these display, however they do not have the correct orientation, (i.e. portrait images) however the jpegs are correct.
The orientation tag is set correctly and this is happeneing in the emby app on:
Android,
iOS and in the
Web Browser,

Is this an issue with my config, or is this something that is expected? I'm happy to provide a portrait .nef and jpeg file if it is needed for debuggin.
