Tenyrsgone27 19 Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Hello, I needed to add a new network card in my server, I bought this Orico PCI-E card and put it in and everything seemed to work great, my speeds improved and seems a lot more stable than on my intel port on the motherboard. Only issue is that it blocks Emby from connecting externally, now I have Plex server running on my same machine and with the new network card users did not have any issues connecting to Plex externally. I tried several things with Emby to login and get it to connect to the server but it will not connect. I plugged my LAN cable back into my Intel port and Emby worked immediately. Thoughts? Could it be the port or something in Windows? I haven't had a chance to really dive into anything, but I don't understand why the network card would block Emby from outside the home network? Thank you Tenyrsgone27
ebr 16195 Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Hi. The new network interface probably has a new IP address and you need to adjust your port mapping rule in your router.
Tenyrsgone27 19 Posted May 11, 2022 Author Posted May 11, 2022 Hello, Thank you. I did check the IP address and everything was the same as on the Intel port, but I will look into the IP address and the port mapping in the router.
muzicman0 84 Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 It's also possible that the Windows firewall closed the port that Emby is using. The Windows firewall can be finicky when you have what it considers a new network. 1
