You should be proud @ebr, i am proud of emby, that a person who basically is sucker for plex also became fan how emby works. Its a big win. Hope the next release lives upto the expectations.

In the YT video by BMB Emby was skipping so fast that he thought it wasn't skipping at all. Plex spun and or paused during each skip. He didn't show examples of truly skipping beyond the buffer for either of them by jumping on the playback bar.

Pretty sure this is the guy who says (or at least used to say things like) transcoding from 20 mbit to 1 mbit takes more resources than going from 20 to 10.

So yeah I wouldn't listen to him. Also he doesn't say whether he's transcoding in hardware or software. Maybe he doesn't know.

Used Plex for years and it sucks absolute a*s. Spent more time fixing it than I did using it. I am yet to see artifacting in Emby

it once was alright but it feels like it became to mainstream and once money was made they got sloppy and its just been a downhill spiral ever since. past the point of return

Don't get me wrong i have things with Emby i'd like to see added/changed but man its is in a different realm when comparing to plex. Even the guy making the video started to sound like he moved to Emby shortly afterwards

free marketing, made a penny from him buy premium, shown to be better than Plex in pretty much every category, borderline converted him over to Emby - Sounds like a massive win to me

This video was a joke.  I watched it a couple days ago and was hoping for some actual performance numbers, like number of 4K->1080p transcode streams with tone mapping or something.  Complete waste of time.
