Sort order?

Hello,

   I just ran into a naming issue. I have a file, incorrectly, named 'The Call of the Wild (1935).mp4.' The act5uall name has no 'The' attached. Rather than rename the file, I decided to fill in the 'Sort title' form. I typed in the correct title and closed. 
To my surprise, nothing changed. Instead of the poster appearing near the top of the page, the poster remained in the middle of the 'The...' group near the bottom.

I closed the web page and the Windows app, and restarted. Nothing had changed.

What is the purpose of the 'Sort title' in the metadata form? Was my understanding of the purpose of that form entry correct?

By default, Emby removes sort characters.

  <SortRemoveWords>
    <string>the</string>
    <string>a</string>
    <string>an</string>
  </SortRemoveWords>

Adding a sort title override this behavior.

But I just tested adding that naming scheme and automatically sorted to "C". (no edited needed)

What do you see in Edit Metadata?

What view are you in?

Only way I can get this to sort via filename is in Folder view sorted by Filename.

All my libraries are in Folder view and the default sorting option, filename.

I sorted by 'Title' and that works. Is there a way to make that the default, for all libraries' pages?

Not that I am aware of.  @Luke

Title is the default in most cases, except in folder view. There is no way to change all views at once at this time.
