jcm@live.com 1 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 I'm a new Emby user but i am impressed with what i see so far. I am using Emby to stream recorded TV shows that were recorded with SageTV and for the most part, it works fine. However, one of the TV shows plays something different than what the title shows. Looking at the file in Embv, there is a drop down Version option that displays several shows. What is this? The version it is set to is the wrong show and the filename is wrong. How did that happen?
pwhodges 2012 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 This is typically the result of not following Emby's guidelines for folder structure and file naming. The best results come from each show having its own directory, each season having its own subdirectory within that (even if only one), and each file name having the show name with the season and episode (e.g. s01e01). jcm@live.com 1 Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 OK. 99% of the shows are correct, thankfully. All the shows are grouped into a single directory that SageTV uses to record with no option to separate into separate sub directories. I wasn't sure if having the collections checkbox enables made a difference. Thanks for the fast reply.
Luke 42077 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 If you can't reorganize the files then you might just want to set it up as a home videos library instead of tv. We plan to be able to accommodate this sort of mish mash folder structure in future updates but we're not quite there yet.
jcm@live.com 1 Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 Great. Will do. Thanks. Emby has come a long way and I love how many platforms the client is available on. 1
