Cpowney92 0 Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 So trying to watch a movie in my bedroom, and I turn on stats for nerds and my client (my Sony TV with a JBL soundbar) does support DTS audio. So The movie buffers every 5 seconds, is my CPU that bad or am I missing something here? Mind you everything was via wifi, but I do not think that was the issue here as my other Sony TV in the living room can direct stream everything no issues. Now I will say, my living room TV will buffer as well whenever I play a 7.1 DTS versus a 5.1 DTS. Living room is a Bose Soundbar 700. I attached one of the logs. My CPU is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1231 v3 @ 3.40GHz ffmpeg-remux-ba8d219e-b70a-4c58-b2d7-c20784e7bcb9_1.txt
Luke 42077 Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Hi, can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and let us know how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks !
Cpowney92 0 Posted April 28, 2022 Author Posted April 28, 2022 Hi Luke, I think I have figured out the problem which is directly related between the client and my local network configuration. I started watching 1917 on the same TV last night and it was doing the same thing. So I decided to play both movies on my living room TV and it worked no problem. At face value, my bedroom TV is running on 2.4Ghz connection, the one in the living room runs connects to the 5Ghz band. I am a bit surprised I can only get 50 mbps out of my 2017 Sony Bravia TV here. Now im just running through my local network to see if there is any settings i can adjust on that side to make sure I can get better throughput. Even for 2.4Ghz, 50 is quiet slow. And the access point is like 6 ft away with one wall in the way.
Solution Cpowney92 0 Posted April 28, 2022 Author Solution Posted April 28, 2022 Just to close this one out, that was indeed the problem. After I forced the TV to lock onto the closet AP, I cranked up the 5Ghz signal and put it on less crowded channel and bam, I got 5g. Ran the movies on the TV and viola, no problems anymore. Thank goodness that was easy! We have a 9 month old and the living room TV shares a wall to our daughters bedroom closet. We only watch movies after we put her bed.
