NeverExists 21 Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Hey, I just added One Piece Season 16 to my library, and it put it first ahead of Specials and season 1..... So it goes Season 16, Specials, Season 1, Season 2 , Season 3 etc......
RanmaCanada 500 Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Anime is a problem as the naming scheme is kind of broken. They don't have seasons but western media needs there to be seasons. The best thing I can recommend is to ensure files are named either as per the tvdb, or you have the entire library set to absolute numbering. Anime has been an absolute crap shoot for years.

I have everything already named properly. Cause I use TVDB and this is the first time I've ever had this issue. I have over 300 anime and this is the only one that does it so I don't think it has to do with that. I'm pretty sure it's a bug.

I've got over 900, and this type of stuff happens regularly.

Luke 42085 Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Hi there, how are your files named and organized? I've actually been working on improving both anime and general absolute ordering number parsing. Not all of these changes will make it into Emby Server 4.7 but hopefully soon after in a 4.7.x follow-up. Thanks.

They have alot of info in the file name including the name of the encoder which is important to keep track of the release you have. So when a better release comes out you cam see which release you have compared to the other one. Besides that, the most important thing for me us the specials integrated into the seasons and the function of ASS Subtitles. It would be nice for you guys to bring back the option to use a different Metadata provider for each show. Cause some shows are better to use TMDB and some with TVDB. You guys used to have that feature and it worked great. Unless you moved it, I don't see it anymore per show.
