LiveTV Tags cache

I'm wondering if someone can help save me from OCD hell.

I inadvertantly used all caps for a couple of my LiveTV tags when all the others are lowercase and for the life of me I can't figure out how to change them.

I am using xteve and I've reset the group name there to lowercase, I've disabled and reenabled the channels there, I've disabled and reenabled the channels in Emby. I've deleted the tags in /emby/metadata/tags, I've looked in /emby/metadata/livetv/ and all it seems to contain are images, checked emby/config/livetv.xml, deleted emby/cache/xmltv, deleted emby/cache/4b5359fe0f4d40cb95e7c944b8b24a09_channels...

The tag is listed within each channel in lowercase as I have written it but every single time the directory in /emby/metadata/tags is rewritten in all caps, even when I create a directory in lowercase first. It's driving me nuts.

I know its a small thing but it's really got me annoyed, I can't believe it's this hard to force it to revert to a new name with lowercase.

Any help would probably prevent me from destroying something out of frustration ;)

Hi, try removing all tuners and guide sources, then refresh the guide data to clear out the database. Then run a scan of all libraries and once that finishes then try adding your channels back. Please see if that helps. Thanks.

That's exactly what I want to avoid doing to prevent having to manually reedit all the channel names/order/images that I have customised already. Hours of work which I am not keen to redo. I can look at editing in the db if that is the only way, it will be quicker. Any advice on where/what to look for in the db? Thanks.

As long as all the items tags have been corrected you should be able to correct this in the database.

Always ensure you have a backup copy of the database if you are going to make manual changes.

Shut down Emby backup library.db

open library.db and navigate to the MediaItems table

in the type column filter to 34

in the name column type the name of the tag you want to find

edit your tag

in the Images column update the path also (ensure to correct /emby/metadata/tags folder name also)

save

UPDATE MediaItems SET Name = replace( Name, 'ALLOW', 'allow' ) WHERE type=34 AND Name IS 'ALLOW';
UPDATE MediaItems SET Images = replace( Images, '%MetadataPath%\tags\ALLOW', '%MetadataPath%\tags\allow' ) WHERE type=34 AND Images LIKE '%MetadataPath%\tags\ALLOW%';
