Failed downloads

I tried downloading a season of a TV show and it seems to have failed. In the app it lists three of the episodes as "Ready to Transfer" and two as "Failed" but it isn't clear why they failed. It looks like the attempt to hardware encode is failing so that is one problem to solve but in the three episodes that are ready it fell back to software encoding, I'm not sure why it didn't do that for the other two. There also seems no way to restart the transcode or even get the three successful episodes downloaded to the device.

With some poking I managed to retrigger the conversions and they worked the second time which is kind of frustrating because it means downloads aren't reliable. Is there some way to make them more reliable or have them retrigger in the event of failure?
