Hey guys, I am a novice at linux and I need some help.  My server OS is ubuntu 20.04 and it has all my media stored on it.  I have emby installed on a sperate computer and I want to upload my movies-shows using a network path within the lan.  For example:  My server address is, 192.168.1.111.  I entered this ip as \\192.168.111 under folder slot within library set up.  It reads into media server and shows a few folders in the optional shared network space, like Video and printer. As I continue to explore looking through the first folder,  the server ip gets removed and replaced with a blank space again.

Can someone explain to me on how I can accomplish this task and a step by step process.

Thanks

Lisa

Hi, what I would suggest instead is mounting the windows share to a local path in ubuntu, and then add the local path into emby server. Please see if that helps. Thanks.

Thanks for the response Luke.  I failed to mention that both machines run on ubuntu.  Can I still accomplish this?

Thanks

Ok are you able to use the file browser in ubuntu on the server machine to browse to the network folder that you want to add into emby server? That would be the first thing to make sure of.
