dgwharrison 0 Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Hi, is it possible to download to external storage on iOS (iPadOS actually)? I see you can do it on Android though I don't have an Android. Would be the main value-add for me over PlexPass.
Luke 42077 Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Hi, yes we plan to support this in upcoming updates to the app. Thanks. 1

WeWillSee 2 Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 I was wondering whether a solution was already found?

luisnabais 1 Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 Hello. Any news on this feature? It's been in to do list for years now.

Thanks ! This was a great coincidence! I like it and I appreciate the change, is very welcome. However, I thought it would be implemented differently. The implementation done is by changing the Downloads folder location. I thought I would select a piece of content (movie, show, etc), press Download To and there I would be able to select the external drive, as an option, not as the only choice. Am I understanding this incorrectly? If not, is this change something in the roadmap? Thank you very much!

Currently it's only a global option that will apply to all downloads.

Yes, exacly. I would add the download locations as multiple sources, where the external drives would be. When downloading a show or a movie, I would add the location as an option and select one of the possible locations. There I would be able to select the external drive or the internal drive, as I prefer. Some content I'm now watching I want to add it internally, but some content I will want to see later, like when I'm travelling, I prefer it to be on an external drive. I believe that would be a great feature! Thank you very much! 1
