alucryd 315 Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Hi all, we're trying to get into the official TrueNAS Scale appstore, meanwhile you may use our fork to try it out, some feedback would be much appreciated. https://github.com/alucryd/charts.git See screenshot below to add it as a new catalog. 1
MRobi1 0 Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 How do your charts compare to TrueCharts? apps/charts/stable at master · truecharts/apps (github.com) They've had Emby setup and maintained there for quite a while now and has often been the one I recommend others to install so curious on the differences.
alucryd 315 Posted April 12, 2022 Author Posted April 12, 2022 The main difference is that it uses our (25% smaller) official docker image instead of the one from linuxserver, other than that it should be pretty much the same experience, linuxserver extracts our rpm anyway. The main appeal though is that it should be available in the official catalog and will be installable out of the box without adding a catalog.
sfatula 207 Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 So, are the environment variables documented anywhere? Or are they identical to what truecharts uses?
alucryd 315 Posted July 1, 2022 Author Posted July 1, 2022 @sfatula Env variables are the same as our docker container, documented here: https://hub.docker.com/r/emby/embyserver You get to use UID, GID, and GIDLIST to tweak permssions.
sfatula 207 Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 Perfect, thank you! Will be trying out your Scale official app soon. I think it's great you got it into the official IX app store!
Trevor68 70 Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Can it still use Traefik for ingress like the Truecharts version?

Trevor68 70 Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Cool, I might check it out then. I have been using truecharts apps mainly for the ease of setup of ssl using cloudflare reverse proxy and traefik. 1
Trevor68 70 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Looks like the androidTV/GoogleTV client may have forced my hand, stay tuned.
Trevor68 70 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 NVM, sideloaded the beta onto all devices and all is well again.
sfatula 207 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 The Truenas Scale app worked great for me, easy install, worked first try,
sfatula 207 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Probably not. Will likely be using Wireguard remotely to get in from hotels, etc. It's how I've always done it. Wireguard is automatically connected to on mobile when out of the house, and, travel router at hotels.
Trevor68 70 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Nice, I'm waiting for merlin to add wireguard for my asus router one day and I will likely put the whole house behind it.
sfatula 207 Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 Yeah, I use Merlin also! That would indeed be wonderful, not sure if my AC5300 will end up being supported or not. So, using a simple PI as a wireguard gateway right now.
