Video playback randomly stops and starts loading

Emby randomly shutdowns and doesn't start back up randomly during playback. Hoping someone here can explain what is happening faster then I can manually debug the problem. Thanks in advance. I might be something simple honestly I don't even know between work side work and moving I haven't even had a chance to figure it out.

Hi, I would suggest lowering the in app quality setting. This could be a sign that the bitrate is too high for the connection.

Yea that's my father in law lol he always messes the settings up. But that wouldn't cause emby server to freeze and act as if no media is mounted would it? I was looking at the log I uploaded I believe it was after I restarted the server so not showing the errors. im going to look and see if I can find the log before the restart. I was half asleep when it happened and been real busy. my wife said it's been happening a couple times a day. at first I was thinking it was a dos attack but I don't see anything weird connecting to my network.

Taking at the logs I noticed a log starting with unhandled around the time I believe the problem happened. Ill upload it. I have some stuff to do to with moving ill clean up the logs removing old ones and when it happens again ill grab that log. Ill update if I find out more or anything changes

Hi, remove the autoskip plugin, then restart the server and then that won't  happen anymore.

Yeah, just remove the auto/intro skip plugin for now.

If it is throwing errors, it will have to be looked at, and rewritten.

Honestly I haven't had the issue again. I didn't remove any plugins, auto/intro skip either however I did remove one of the Roku devices running Roku SG 4.0.46 that's been having issues and there has not been a problem since. I am hoping I have some free time this weekend and will be able to fully diagnose the issue if it is the device causing the issue. Weird if it was since none of the devices have issues just these devices https://www.walmart.com/ip/Roku-Express-HD-Streaming-Media-Player-with-High-Speed-HDMI-Cable-and-Simple-Remote/120569644?athbdg=L1200. I have one running with my parents, another for my kids seems they both give problems one on local network not so much. Unless that issue has nothing to do with Emby server completely.  Could be my firewall not allowing that device and allowing her tv like possible difference in ports. but ill know more this weekend when I test it again or if it happens again from now and then ill grab the new logs. Since the devices have been removed I have had no issues so far. I still have all my plugins running like normal.

Thanks for the update.

Sorry for the late response So the devices i was questing actually have another issue and it seems to be a coincidence when they disconnect from the web Emby threw the error a few times. The devices drop wireless network nothing to do with Emby. However Emby threw the error and it happened after I paused a show for a little bit then came back then played it again. I am going to remove the intro skip feature and see if that fixes the issue. Also recent logs.  Thanks for your help and understanding of my busy schedule and little knowledge of the issue at hand

Wasn't introskip supposed to be placed in both locations?

/opt/emby-server/system/plugins /

/var/lib/emby/plugsins/

Removing it from the system I noticed it was only in the one location /var/lib/emby/plugins/ could of sworn I placed in both.

Third party plugins only need to be placed in "/var/lib/emby/plugins" on Linux 😃👍
