SirJMD 15 Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 I've been using Emby for some years now, and every single time I dread having to download stuff in Emby. Always, always, always are there issues. Either some files are not converting, not downloading or something else. And yet again.. A movie wouldn't convert for whatever reason, nothing happens, and it blocked all the other downloads. Other movies were "Ready to transfer" - but never did. I just removed all the downloads and tried again.. stuck on "Ready to transfer" still. I'm so tired having to baby Emby just to get a few movies on my tablet and phone. Could the download function in Emby get some love and attention soon? As is it's terrible. Not just bad, but actually terrible.

No idea if it's actually doing anything, because there is zero info in the manage download menu. I'm gonna make a post with some feedback on the whole download part of Emby, I think there are quite a few core functionality missing, and some of those shouldn't require that much to implement.
LoLoEmby 1 Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 I have the same issue explained in here. But I found out that after the file waits for transfer, If you close the app and reopen it and it start the transfer immediately.
SirJMD 15 Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 I'm still baffled by the lack of functionality in the download part of Emby. Just the bare minimum of pause, stop, restart, progression and ETA, speed, and maybe even changing download order if we're being fancy. 1

I removed other downloads, deleted and reinstalled the app. My phone has space for downloads and I’ve tried download to the iPhone and just standard download. The Emby app i reinstalled is version 2.2.44 any help to resolve this is much appreciated as it’s driving me crazy that it worked previously and now nothing I’ve tried is resolving the issue please help

I went to the Downloads section on the server and deleted EVERYTHING, including past downloads that showed Completed. And it worked!!!!!!! This is really weird. [edit] no, spoke too fast.
