Hey since all of the other versions of Emby are getting thumbnail seeking is there any plans for ATV to get it ?

ATV was one of the first to get thumbnail seeking.

  1. Click Down to show the OSD
  2. Click UP to the timeline
  3. Click Right or LEFT to navigate forward or backward

Or, on my Shield remote >> and << also navigate the timeline

If you still don't see them, then check your server and library settings to make sure you're actually creating the thumbnails.

Hi.  Simply holding the navigation arrows during playback will produce thumbnail seeking as well if the item has thumb images.

and hard pressing the navigation buttons makes it speed up gradually and seek faster of course

This could also be taken as a failure of Emby to inform you of these features.

In Apps like VLC, the first time you use them, they give you an overlay of the functions vs buttons on the Shield - maybe Emby need to do something similar ?

I added some "Did you know" popups several versions back.  Its amazing how many people complained about those...  They are still there though.

That's good to know - do they pop up periodically or just on a new install ?  I ask as I don't recall ever seeing them .. ;)

Thanks.
