So I was following the thread to have remote access set up to my server.

I have followed this thread to a tee, i have enable automatic port mapping, enable upnp for my router

https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002137137-remote-setup

When i check the https://canyouseeme.org/ i get this error

Error: I could not see your service on *insert Ip address *on port (8920)

So I then try to port forwarding  manually too, it but i get this error.

Conflicting Port Forwarding Rules: The Destination Ports 8920 service conflict with an existing port forwarding rule offering UPnP IGD TCP 8920 service.

Any suggestions would help, I'm completely stuck.

Hi there, port 8920 is the SSL port for Emby Server. In order to use that you have to setup SSL first in Emby Server network settings. Have you done that?

Hey thanks for the response. No I haven't , what do I have to do ?

Also i know in the thread it said i should test port 8096 which both ports I was getting the same error.

Go back and follow these instructions again.
https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002137137-remote-setup

Read the last 6 lines and let us know if you pass this tracert test or if it appears you're in a CGNAT.
If you're behind a CGNAT you can't port forward through this as your ISP has you blocked. Let us know and we'll take it from here.

If it doesn't appear to be a CGNAT then try this:
Turn off UPnP in both Emby Server and the router itself. On Emby Server you want Networks->Enable automatic port mapping option turned off for this.
You want to instead manually setup port forwarding.

Try canyouseeme.org again.

Let us know how you make out.

Ignore the first line which will be your own router.  What you want to see is if any of the next 3 or 4 lines start with 10., 192. or 172.  If the first number is a 172 we need to check the second number to see if it's between 16 to 31.  If any of these returned lines matches this you are likely being blocked by your ISP.

So the next 3 lines do start with those numbers 10. ,192. and 172.

But the next two parts don't apply.

When you say if any of these lines match, does that include the first part?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but my father past away on Friday and being an only child all the responsibilities are left to me to handle. Crazy weekend and my head is still spinning!

OK getting back to your issue. Once past your own router you ideally won't see any additional reserved IPs like the sets mentioned above starting with 10, 172 or 192.  That almost aways indicates the presence of another NAT your going through which is more than likely a CGNET (carrier grade NAT).

There are a few ways to work around this, so now our job is to figure out the best method for you.

Can you tell us what your intention is for using remote?  By this I mean is it just for you and a couple family members or did you plan on inviting friends?  They could require different solutions.  Also let's check to make sure you have the needed bandwidth to make this worthwhile as well.

If you run a test from https://speedtest.net and also https://speed.cloudflare.com/ what do you get for upload speeds?

Sorry to hear that, I hope you are doing ok. I want to thank you again for your quick response.

Also after checking again none of those lines are starting with those numbers.

My intentions for remote is to have just a few family members and a few friends no more than 20, probably way less actually.

I was averaging 70 download 50 upload.

Thanks for your help!
