What happens if I move a file?

For example, if I have say D:/Folder1/Subfolder1. and all of my files are in Folder1, what happens If I were to move them to Subfolder1? I have files in playlists and collections as well. Would the move cause any deletions that I have to re add? or would emby be seamless and I wouldn't need to re add anything?

Items are removed from db and re-added as new.

Yes. Unless you store NFOs/Artwork with media, all your custom edits will be gone.

If you don't backup Playlists, contents will be gone.

Auto-Collections (TMDB) will be recreated, if enabled in library settings. Custom Collections will be gone if you don't write NFOs into media folders.
