Eradev 8 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Hi, my music library is mostly in big FLAC files, and I'd like to force encode it to mp3 when not on a WiFi network (ie. LTE) in order to save bandwidth. Is that possible? Before you suggest it, no, I'm not looking to download it on my phone. Windows server with Android client if that matters.
Ronstang 294 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Storage space is cheap....I have over 1000 CDs in WavPak lossless or more....but I also have all that music in mp3 also. Just experiment with Lame Encoder with settings and let em rip to a hard drive then create a separate library for only streaming to your phone.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Pretty sure the only way is adjusting the device internet quality via playback settings. Just a setting you will have to remember you set.
Luke 42081 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 There is a separate music quality setting you can configure to avoid impacting video playback.
