justinrh 260 Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 (edited) I sent app logs @ 11:30am CST, user home, from Shield. I play an MP4 which direct plays. Settings -> Quality -> 2Mbps (or any other value). Playing almost immediately stops and a toast sometimes pops up for half a second (can't read it!!). Why does this happen? The web app does not do this. embyserver.txt Edited March 27, 2022 by justinrh
ebr 16184 Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Hi. After you select the quality, make sure you use the back button to dismiss the menu instead of the left arrow. Can you try this?
justinrh 260 Posted March 27, 2022 Author Posted March 27, 2022 That doesn't make sense, ebr. You have to select a quality level. The menu self-dismisses when you select. As soon as the new quality level is selected is when the problem happens. Any idea what is in the three line toast? (please fix the toast display time!)

Any toast we display stays up for several seconds. Is your display, perhaps, trying to switch modes or something during this time (causing the display to cut out for a few seconds)?
justinrh 260 Posted March 28, 2022 Author Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) ebr, I don't think you are following. When the player stops, yes the display is changing - from the player back to the library (or home page). The toast does need to be fixed, but it is secondary. You know what, @Luke? It would be nice if any toast msg was also pumped into the log file (it sounds like it is not now). But, can we keep focus on the main issue about the quality level not working? Luke 42078 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and let us know how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks !
justinrh 260 Posted March 31, 2022 Author Posted March 31, 2022 @Luke The Android player worked well for this workflow.
