Is it possible to downgrade and install an older version?

I had 4.5.4 before and upgraded to 4.6.7.

This update removed all info and pictures in my music folder and my audiobook folder.

I also dont like the new look in the music and audiobook folders.

You have to click like 5-10 times to get to the page where it shows the frontcover of the book and the info about the book.

In the older version , all you needed was 1 click and you got it all.

So can i install the old version again??

Or is there a setting that i have missed?

Not really as there were major changes in the upgrade to 4.6.  So in order to downgrade you would have to do a clean install.

If you have uses Server configuration Backup Plugin then you should be able to restore configs/userdata on a clean install.

Depending on your clients being used they will stop working if you do not upgrade also as they will eventually not be compatible.

But I don't follow on your issue.  Unless I am not remembering a change as 4.5 was a long time ago (Dec 14, 2020) considering 4.7 is about to release.

Can you show a specific example?  As mine are 2 to 3 clicks depending one the view I am navigating from.

I want it to like like this , like it was before.

Why was it changed so all the info and pictures where removed?

You are correct , its 3 clicks now (i clicked wrong).

But it was only 1 click before.

Why make it harder to get to?

Don't really follow as there are tabs and depending on the view will determine number of clicks.  May have to get a portable of 4.5.4.0 to see if I can understand the difference but no support can be provided for old builds.

Don't see how you did one click before as opening the library is one click opening the book is another.  But sure one click from Home screen Latest row if books appears there.

2 clicks if landing page is Books tab.  3 clicks if landing page is Arthor or Folder tabs for my setup/structure.

Layout will change in 4.7.

I think I may know what you are referring to as Folder view never use to be TRUE folder structure view and it is now.  So if your folders are nested 10 layers deep then you have the same amount of navigating in Emby as file system in that view.

As for folder images the folder needs a image in order to display and has to be manually applied if it hasn't inherited from lower level.

But the structure option in the library plays a factor also.

All folders had a picture manually applied. All those are gone after update.

All books had 1 folder each.

All books had text/info about the book manually applied. All that info is gone after update (over 300 books).

Are those images in that said folder?

Need to see content of folders as that is what is presented in folder view.  If not with media then yes these could have been lost in the update.

Unfortunately if this information (image/metadata) is not saved with media, I think is/where lost when Emby rebuilt these libraries.

I embed image and metadata in tracks for books so it can't be lost.  Other structure images are a little different like Author level.  Will have to search forum but believe Overview can be added to track data in 4.7, not sure about 4.6.

Do you have nfo and images with media?

Hi, nothing was removed. I think the issue is just that your tracks don't have images assigned in Emby Server.

Can you provide a specific example of what you think takes more clicks? I don't quite follow what you're trying to say. Thanks !

Would need to see the upgrade log but if the library was rebuilt then the db purge would have lost metadata and images not with media.

Ideally now everything should be embedded in the filles.
