folders without icons/posters

Hello,

I've finished processing most of my fifteen terabyte movie collection in Emby.

There's one thing that my speed up some of my work.

After all drives have been scanned, some sudirectories containing fully processed movies, do not themselves, have an icon/poster image associated with them.

Is there a way to get Emby to do that without me going, one by one, and selecting poster images for the folders?

Thanks.

Can you go over a specific example.  As Emby should already do this.

The reason I posted this is I know Emby should havre already done this.

"O:/series, serials and artists/James Bond/"

All the movies in the folder have been processed. The folder/diretory icon for the Jams Bond folder appears to be a screenshot instead of a poster.

Some folders have only a colored rectangle with a large folder icon in the middle such as "O:/series, serials and artists/Orson Welles/"

All the movies in both directories have been processed and are represented by their movie's posters.

Thanks

I'm going to wait a few days. I moved a half gigabyte of movies on the drive in question.

In a previous post, I stated I had lost a drive and moved the contents to a subdirectory of a larger drive and imported that subdirectory as a library, a virtual drive, so to speak. I decided to make the move permanent.

I use a standard (for me) directory structure with my drives, so I had to move the contents in the subdirectory to the root directory where they would be integrated with the rest of the content.

The movies in the subdirectory had all been processed by Emby, so I expected the change would not call for a lot of activity by Emby. I may have been wrong.

I'm going to wait a few days to see if things settle down any. My experience has been, the server, a 2008 Core 2 Duo, needs a lot of time to process things.

Thanks

Also: this may be the reason, at least in part, the ffmpeg activity mentioned in another post, occurs. I've posted before on issues that have been cleared up by simply waiting. I'm just going to wait a few days more to see if this is one of those times. This makes me seriously consider using a Raspberry Pi 4b as the server, though I don't know for sure if the speed would improve any.

Regardless, here is a sample of the folder icon problem:

What is the specific problem in the first screenshot? They all have images. Are they wrong?

What images are in the Folder?  If none Emby will use first folder image inside that folder (inherit from child).

Note folder view has nothing to do with Collections.  So James Bond Collect will/could have different images then James Bond folder.

Ideally, only poster images would appear in browsing. However, I waited several days and thren did a master rescan. That seemed to work.

I have to say, there are some really good things about Emby. The 'live' monitor seems to work along with me sometimes, in making modifications or corrections. That really speeded up my work.

So far, I tested Emby, SimpleDLNA, miniDLNA, Universal Media Server, Serviio, Stremio, Jellyfin, Home Media Server, and currently have Kodi waiting in the wings for testing.

Currently, Emby is the best, in my opinion, of course, with the fewest shortcomings or issues combined with the best assortment of features.

Thanks.
