Question(s) on WMC plugin

Hi, I am testing WMC plugin as my brother (remote) uses this primarily and I would like to have him be able to view the family photos/videos through that on the large screen. So I'm testing this plugin locally (local LAN) to see how it's working. I understand that with 4.7x and further this will no longer be supported, which is too bad.

So far I have the following notes/questions:

• Apparently the plugin (non beta) doesn't work with v4.6xx of Emby server, as it will not authenticate any user/password combination - would be great to document this, perhaps I missed it, I had to search heavily to find a post that one should use the beta.
• ?? How does one set up the server in the plug, for remote use? As I am strictly on HTTPS, does one still use the IP or domain name, and then the port would be whichever is being used (i.e. 8899). What if it's the standard port 443, do you still need to specify it?
• ?? Is there a way to set global variables here (in particular as I'm sharing a handful of top level folders) as it relates to Config, View >> Poster, and Labels. I want to set globally for the shared library that all views are POSTER and have LABELS turned on. Is there a way to do this? I am not finding this anywhere.
• ?? What is this all about, error I get when I play back stuff: Could not access media. Will attempt to stream. Use UNC paths or path substitution on server and ensure this machine can access them. This pops up each time, it's very large, how do I get rid of this - NEVERMIND, found the checkbox for "warn if streaming" and unchecked it, solved.
• ?? In the display/theme I switched from Chocolate to Classic, now there is no way I can find to get back into the settings (as I had not noticed there was an advanced tab before switching themes to classic). How does one get back to that configuration screen(s)??

Actually it is. Why do you think that?

I thought I read that after Emby Server version 4.7, EMC plugin will no longer be supported and actively developed. Did I misread/misunderstand?

OK sorry, just wanted to make sure. So yes, you are correct.

I would suggest specifying it to be explicit. The server may know you're strictly on https, but the app that's trying to connect doesn't.

I would check in the Emby for WMC settings but I don't believe there is.

I'd probably suggest switching back to the default to maximize longevity of using Emby for WMC.
