Link movie to TvShow special

Hi guys, not sure if this has been covered before because it sound a little crazy even bringing it up.

What I was wondering is if it's possible to link a movie, say "Serenity (2005)" to a special in a TvShow like "Firefly - S00E01 - Serenity".

I know I could just copy "Serenity (2005)" to the special's folder of Firefly and rename it to a episode format.

Could be a crazy idea but would save having two copies of the same thing in two locations.

I haven't used XBMC/Kodi in a long long time now but I thought it could be done there, I could be totally wrong and this is pure crazy.

You could try creating a symbolic link or Hardlink of the movie in the Specials or Extras folder of the TV Series, then renaming it to Firefly S00E01.

There are a couple topic on this around but you could just create a strm file for one or the other.
