oceanclub 12 Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 So I did the following: 1. Made a copy of C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\metadata, and copied to F:\Emby-Metadata. 2. In Library > Advanced Settings changed the metadata path to that new one. 3. Restarted the server. When I restart I find that most of the images are no longer showing. Oddly there seems no pattern - in a collection of 4 movies I've set up together, one cover is fine while the other three don't show. Even collection with hardcoded names don't show up - for example, I can see the images under F:\Emby-Metadata\collections\Peanuts and Charlie Brown but the images for that collection (cover, fan arts and backdrops) are not showing up. Any help appreciated, Paul
Happy2Play 9784 Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 This is problematic as orginal paths exist in the database. You can try the Scheduled task Scan Metadata folder to see if that helps but believe this will require a manual database update to all items. So technically this can not be moved for all already imported media. It only applies to newly imported items.
oceanclub 12 Posted March 18, 2022 Author Posted March 18, 2022 (edited) OK I tried the "Scan Metadata" task with no luck. Also tried rescanning my library, still no luck. So then I switched my setting back to C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\metadata, which I had left as it is and.... that doesn't work either. I tried the Scan Metadata Folder task again, still nothing. So what is the quickest way of recovering from this? I'm resigned to having lost all the manual images adding I have done, but is there a quicker way than (seemingly) having to go into each film and album and clicking "Refresh Metadata" with "Replace existing images" ticked? Happy2Play 9784 Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Would need to see server logs during this process to see if data was purged. But you can Refresh at Library level or multi-select all libraries and refresh via the three dot menu in the header. But as mentioned before by default metadata folder has a token in the database for original location and would have to be manually update for all item with the token to new path if you were to move said folder. Example from Image column in mediaitems table, but would have to look at other columns that would/could need updating also. %MetadataPath%\library\b0\b0882c838b99b62a84ad1de423564353\poster.jpg*637694304866985030*Primary*288*475*null
