pjb 1 Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 (edited) Hi All, I am currently running emby server 4.6.4.0-3-01. If I upgrade to any version above that I cannot get into the app via any web browser. I access the app via http://192.168.1.169:8096 and get a blank screen with the word FORBIDDEN on it. Downgrading back to 4.6.4.0-3-01 enables me to once again access the dashboard. Looking in the logs I find the following messages: 2022-03-16 11:03:18.765 Info Server: http/1.1 GET http://192.168.1.169:8096/favicon.ico. UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/99.0.4844.51 Safari/537.36 Edg/99.0.1150.39 2022-03-16 11:03:18.765 Info Server: http/1.1 Response 403 to 192.168.1.100. Time: 0ms. http://192.168.1.169:8096/favicon.ico Strangely enough when I bring up a browser window and type http://192.168.1.169:8096/favicon.ico that returns the image to my browser windows. How can I fix? Edited March 16, 2022 by pjb
Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 HI, what is the version number of the build that you're having trouble with? the most likely reason is due to your emby server network settings. It's probably caused by an access restriction you've applied. How have you configured emby server network settings?
pjb 1 Posted March 17, 2022 Author Posted March 17, 2022 Hi Luke, Thanks very much for your response. I appreciate your help. I am currently running Version 4.6.4 I tried to upgrade to version 4.6.7 I am running Emby in a docker on unraid I can access Emby (4.6.4) from a web browser but when I upgrade to 4.6.7 I get the word Forbidden on the screen when I try to access via HTTP My network settings are as follows: LAN Networks: not filled in (ie: blank) Local IP Address: not filled in (ie: blank) Local HTTP Port number: 8096 Local HTTPS port number: 8920 Allow remote connections to this emby server: unticked Max simultaneous video streams: Unlimited I can't get into the dashboard to see the settings when I upgrade to 4.6.7. This is all that appears when I try to access emby on 4.6.7. NOTE: I can access fine on 4.6.4 Network Settings on 4.6.4
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Do you have IPv6 enabled on your setup? If you enabled Allow remote connections does it work? Forbidden network related though. Can you post server logs for both version also.
pjb 1 Posted March 18, 2022 Author Posted March 18, 2022 Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it. I ticked "Allow remote connections to this Emby Server." as suggested and upgraded to version 4.6.6. I can successfully connect to Emby now. I've worked out the issue now. I run emby in a docker container on Unraid. Unraid NAT's from my home network address range to an assigned IP address for the container. In my instance, I am mapping from 192.168.1.0/24 to 172.17.0.4 for Emby. With version 4.6.4 it didn't matter that my connection was coming from a different address range, but 4.6.6 recognise this and blocks the connection. Problem solved.
Luke 42078 Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Right, the network detection actually got more accurate, which caused this for you and a few others. Thanks for the feedback.
