To all users. At least 50% of all reported issues needs additional clarifications. I must make assumption, guessing that's the meaning and coming back with followup questions. I mentioned it a couple of times and I say it again (also put it in FAQ soon).   1. Find a pattern, "sometimes" is no a proper issue description. New version available 7.13.1 -> 7.13.2:

fix minor issue when Kodi library clean was triggered (edge case)
adjust keepalive session tracker interval from 4 to 10 seconds

 

Comment:

As there are no showstoppers reported, I'll push this version also into Emby's Kodi beta repo. -> Can take a while till it's synced.

Hi,

 

i guess the issue with beta server 4.8.0.20/21 still exists. I did some tests with 2 installations (Kodi 19.4 on WIndows 10, Coreelec 19.4 (latest)). On both i saw following issue (after resetting the local database):

Movie library: Adding a movie library results in only syncing boxsets. In result Kodi think there is no library, Main menue and category widgets are emty.

TV-Shows: TV-Shows will be synced, the Kodi mainmenue works for shows, but only the genre and studio widgets (default Estuary, also tested with Estuary Mod V2) are populates and working. Everything else (started shows, last added, ect.) are empty.

Music: Both of my music libraries seems to sync like before with emby server version 4.8.0.19 and below. And im not have the feeling its slower like before.

Both installations using E4K 7.13.2

Yes and that's not a plugin issue. Wait till it's fixed on Emby server. 4.8.0.19 is the last working beta version.

I assume your bug reports are for .21?

And yes, .21 is slow therefore the sync timeout after 5 minutes and movies are not synced.

Yes, its for .21.

I have followed the other thread, but i was not sure if it is finaly a server or a plugin problem.But maybe there is some private discussion in the backround;)

Now available via Emby's Kodi beta repo. -> Target date for stable version is January 2023

Any one else having issues with the following procedure: I cannot seek using left/right arrow when movie plays it keeps crashing the MPC-HC (1.9.24)

with KODI (Matrix 19.4).

I don't think that the new beta forces this crash, but since I haven't changed KODI or MPC-HC, I just wanted to ask around here.

My Embyforkodi just auto updated from 6.x.x to 7.xx.x is it suppose to do that at the moment???

 

Just noticed your post a couple above mine, Looked on 1st page expecting an announcement there

I only changed the tag from "public testing" to "beta" on page one.

btw, Your posting sounds a bit as the timing was inconvenient for you? If so, you should disable autoupdates on Kodi.

No it was fine, Just surprised me this morning, Have been waiting for it to get out of testing before i updated

BTW is there a list of advantages of 7.xx.x over 6.xx.x??

Only thing I can see is a filtered get request. Usually happens for dynamic nodes used as wigdet.

Rest looks good.

btw, MPC-HC, is EOL for 5 years

There is an issue with photoalbum view in 7.13.2

I'll fix in in next version.

Thanks for the check, I'll wait for nexus to be stable and see what happens.

 

It's a for for madvr users, thats still maintained.

I sometimes use Nvidia Shield with kodi offline with an usb memory to economize mobile connection.

In these occasions embyforkodi plugin keeps on showing popups "http socket connection error" every few seconds cause it is offline.

Is there a way to avoid that without disabling the addon?

There is no way to trigger syncing only if online and let the system or kodi advise the addon if online or not?

Hi since las update, maybe two days ago, now i cant use a external player like mpc-be. The player says imposible to reder file.
was working perfect before. Dont know why.

Oh wow, had the same issues, and thought I screwed up my config.

Removed KODI, MPC-HC and MPC-BE (I tried that when MCP-HC wouldnt work) and made a clean installt.

But I installed the stable next-gen and now it works as supposed.

 

Interested to see what quickmic finds.

quick question sorry if dumb

 

i got a big "final warning" yesterday when opening kodi, stating that i'd have to fully reset the kodi database for the addon's new version? yes/no -- chose yes, nothing happened. but no media will play anymore from emby server

 

so just go ahead and wipe kodi local database and reinitialize emby addon?

I just got automatically updated to v7.13.2 and I reset the database as requested but it just doesn't want to work for some reason. I have reinstalled it several times, I've done a clean Kodi install and also tried a couple of different versions (now v20 RC2). Occasionally Movies are scanned and added, but not all. TV Shows are added but no seasons or episodes (I did get seasons and episodes by then scanning a show manually by selecting "Scan for new content" from the context menu).

The attached log has been taken immediately after launching Kodi and reinstalling and doing the basic setup of Emby for Kodi, meaning, after selecting "Use native paths" (nothing in them has changed) > Automatic server detection and login > Selecting Movie and TV Show libraries > This time basically nothing seemed to happen (no scanning notification or anything, just sat there like nothing had been done).

I don't have any idea what the problem is. I've used v6 for years without any problems (or however long it has been around) but version 7 doesn't work at all. I've reset database, done a factory reset, manually tried all library repair/update etc. options but it just seems like it just crashes or something. I also reverted my server to v4.8.0.19 beta but that doesn't seem to help at all either. Emby works fine through browsers and the mobile app, locally and remotely. Kodi and the server are on the same machine so this shouldn't be a connection problem and even if it were, why would it occasionally scan some content.

Seems that's the problem.

It's actually a workaround for a Kodi bug, bu seems it breaks external players. I'll add an option to disable this function in next version.

I have reinstalled it several times, I've done a clean Kodi install and also tried a couple of different versions (now v20 RC2). Occasionally Movies are scanned and added, but not all. TV Shows are added but no seasons or episodes (I did get seasons and episodes by then scanning a show manually by selecting "Scan for new content" from the context menu).

The attached log has been taken immediately after launching Kodi and reinstalling and doing the basic setup of Emby for Kodi, meaning, after selecting "Use native paths" (nothing in them has changed) > Automatic server detection and login > Selecting Movie and TV Show libraries > This time basically nothing seemed to happen (no scanning notification or anything, just sat there like nothing had been done).

I don't have any idea what the problem is. I've used v6 for years without any problems (or however long it has been around) but version 7 doesn't work at all. I've reset database, done a factory reset, manually tried all library repair/update etc. options but it just seems like it just crashes or something. I also reverted my server to v4.8.0.19 beta but that doesn't seem to help at all either. Emby works fine through browsers and the mobile app, locally and remotely. Kodi and the server are on the same machine so this shouldn't be a connection problem and even if it were, why would it occasionally scan some content.
