Media library lost after smb failed

So here’s an easy one.
I had a failure that meant my Emby server lost connection to its smb shares for a couple of hours. During that time the Emby server was rebooted.

Then all the libraries were empty, so I told it to rescan, the video files were then there, but the metadata had gone. So that’s coming down again.as part of the library rescan

so no actual problem, give it some time and it should be okay.
i think it happened on the reboot, when the smb shares were disconnected and it therefore saw there was nothing in the file store so deleted the “missing “ files from the library, I reconnect the smb shares, but Emby doesn’t know about the media as it’s all “missing” from the library metadata.

seems to make sense, but my question is two fold, firstly am I correct, secondly how to stop it happening again. I guess just don’t reboot the Emby server if in doubt about the files store, but is there an option I can set to stop deletion ?

thanks

Thanks Luke, here's the logs from that period.

What actually happened is; The house has 2 separate RCD circuits, One failed, the one with the SMB servers on it, and the other was fine, the one with emby on it. I need to check, but i suspect the network switch may have powered off too. this happened around 18:00.

I've looked through the logs and noticed other problems too, ffprobe errors, The emby server is on IP xx.xx.xx.250, the importing machine on xx.xx.xx.244.

The "crash" is in the log file ending 284

in this file the errors seem to start at 2022-03-14 18:26:59.875

But the deletions start in the log file ending in 423. at 2022-03-14 21:48:06.420

There seem to be a few errors, besides the deletion. I also noticed emby can't play some films, but that's another post, I think I need some additional codecs

One question though, besides the deletions, in the log file 284, what's the error at 2022-03-14 18:06:34.882

Thanks for your help and time looking at this
