adminExitium 355 Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Hi, This is a follow-up from this thread: I have 2 Emby servers, 1 responsible for writing all the metadata (referred to as the metadata server) and the other for only the streaming (referred to as the streaming server) with the metadata mounted as read-only. The streaming server has no metadata plugin like TVDB, TMDB etc. since I uninstalled those when setting it up. The metadata has all of those plugins installed and enabled. I have been testing out sharing the people folder and there seems to be an issue with how the people folders are named between the 2 servers. The metadata server has the name of the person + the tmdb id (ex: `Zendaya-tmdb-505710`) whereas the streaming server is looking only the name of the person without the tmdb id (ex: `Zendaya`). The behaviour on the streaming server has been verified by browsing to the page of the person which caused it to create a new folder for the person without the tmdb id in the name. Is there something I am missing or is this caused due to the missing TMDB plugin? Also, the streaming server doesn't seem to be using the `thumb` from the nfo file that was created by the metadata server since it's showing no thumb when browsing the movie page even though the nfo has a valid and accessible thumb w.r.t the local filesystem. Any fixes for this? I may have missed providing some info so please let me know if you need anything more or any logs after doing something specific on the server. Thanks.

adminExitium 355 Posted March 14, 2022 Author Posted March 14, 2022 Will simply installing the plugin solve the issue or will I need to enable it in the libraries too? I am aiming to keep this as a read-only server so I don't want to modify any metadata from this server. 3 hours ago, adminExitium said: Also, the streaming server doesn't seem to be using the `thumb` from the nfo file that was created by the metadata server since it's showing no thumb when browsing the movie page even though the nfo has a valid and accessible thumb w.r.t the local filesystem. Any fixes for this? Any thoughts on this? Seems like a weird issue unless the `thumb` is never used by Emby at all and is only meant to be written and never read again?

I probably need to enable it and then refresh the metadata which is something I am unwilling to do since this is supposed to be a read-only replica in terms of the metadata. Can Emby be updated to read the provider ids inserted into the nfo files and use that for getting the metadata folder?

This is already done, and the updated nfo plugin will be included in the upcoming Emby Server 4.7 release. Thanks.
