UnderMiner 11 Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 (edited) Hello, We've been using Emby for many years and have several family videos and other older shows in DVD folders. My memory may be failing but believe that this used to play correctly with the DVD plugin on the server. I understand this this may not be supported but the videos play well for the first segment and then stall at the next file. I could convert all of the folders with Handbrake but this could take some time so I am reaching out to the support forum for any tips or advice. I placed the log files at this link and I tried to playback both using the Emby desktop app in Windows 10 and also on the Apple TV 4k with both the native player and with MPV. I did find a recommendation in the forum and I removed and rebuilt the library but the issues remained the same. Thanks for any recommendations. Edited March 13, 2022 by UnderMiner
UnderMiner 11 Posted March 14, 2022 Author Posted March 14, 2022 Hello, the video was transcoding from MPEG2Video to H.264 (AVC).
UnderMiner 11 Posted March 19, 2022 Author Posted March 19, 2022 I should mention that the transcoding occurred in all cases and certainly with MPV on the Apple TV. Let me know if there any settings I may change or if you recommend additional testing. Thanks,
Luke 42085 Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Keep in mind that any transcoding of folder rip structures is considered purely experimental. For the best experience possible I would suggest converting to mkv.
UnderMiner 11 Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 Thanks for your support Luke, I understand.
