xrqp 11 Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Can Emby play m2ts files? Is there a place that you list all the file types emby can play? I got a blueray iso, and in the Stream folder, there is a single m2ts file that has the whole movie. Can i just save that one file, name it properly, and put it in the proper named folder? If yes, then I have it with no added conversion losses and no added apps needed. Is it that simple? Thanks for your thoughts.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 TS file yes iso file no. As for a list it is about the client on what it supports as the server will do what it needs to, to play the media. 10 minutes ago, xrqp said: Can i just save that one file, name it properly, and put it in the proper named folder? Borrowed from another topic for LG TV.
xrqp 11 Posted March 13, 2022 Author Posted March 13, 2022 Thanks very much, Happy2Play. Important info you gave that it is not Emby that determines file types played. I have 2021 LG TV and Nvidia Shield Pro. Possibly I have it setup so the Shield is the determining factor for file types it can play. Not sure, but let's assume that is correct. Shield says they support: MPEG-2/ MPEG-4/ Xvid/ DivX/ WMV9/ ASF/ AVI/ MKV/ MOV/ M2TS/ MPEG-TS/ H.263/ H.264/ H.265/ VC-1/ VP8/ VP9. So yaaayyy! I think it is my Windows 10 that automatically mounts iso files so I can browse them and find the biggest m2ts file, and then just copy that file to a normal (non-iso) folder. So it is simple and I do not need to buy MakeMKV app. Yaaayyy! I guess the big issue I am not addressing is when it takes more than one m2ts to get the whole movie. I think that is common also, correct? Then maybe it is not simple without apps like MakeMKV. Am I understanding this correctly?

Przemek 70 Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Hello, I have iso file that mount on unRAID. Folder structure looks different than other isos I convert in MakeMKV. There's /Stream folder with m2ts files. Can I convert them in that app? How to do that properly to get working in Emby? @Happy2Play, @Luke can You help?
