Nukevader 1 Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 When creating libraries, I don't know where to look to find my USB external drive when browsing. When I paste the path from the files manager emby says it is invalid. I think it is the spaces in the path. I can't remove them because they are in the HDD name, not in a folder. I created a shorter mount point but can't get to mount it, I get an error about vfat can't parse. I am runing ubuntu studio. I am a real beginner in linux so please help. Thanks
Solution mastrmind11 722 Posted March 6, 2022 Solution Posted March 6, 2022 you need to mount the drive outside of the GUI. google how to mount an external drive using the command line.
Luke 42078 Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 This may help: https://www.tutorialspoint.com/how-to-mount-usb-drive-in-a-linux-system And then you can add the mounted path into emby server.
Nukevader 1 Posted March 7, 2022 Author Posted March 7, 2022 Hi guys, I figured it out. I forgot to mention it was a NTFS HDD. When googling as per Mastrmind11 suggestion, I realized about it, made the corresponding change in my mount line and voila. Thanks to both. 1
