Unable to create a media library

That gets you your router's external address, and will need some router setup to work.

At this stage you need the IP address of the machine running Emby,  which you can find by typing "ipconfig" into a command line in Windows (maybe "ifconfig" in other OSs - I'd have to check).  You almost certainly want a number starting with 192.168.

Or using a browser on the Emby machine itself you can go to "localhost:8096" (or "127.0.0.1:8096").  When you can get to the Emby dashboard, that will show you the machine's local network address.

But using your forum address I can see you have not completed the "wizardstart" currently leaving your server open for anyone to setup.

What do you get when you enter your WANIP:8096?  But all of this technically should be done locallly via localhost/LANIP before ever dealing with Connect/app.emby.media.

I guess I am not intelligent enough to use this program. 5 days ago I posted that I could not get the "add library" box in the help article to open, in fact all the text boxes on the page would not respond. I still have no answer why I was not able to add a media library but I have been constantly ridiculed whenever I respond to people on this post.  I will return to Plex which has served me well for a couple of years and not try the opposing application.

How are you being ridiculed?  People are just trying to find out what is happening to make a normally well-functioning program misbehave for you.

Have you tried connecting to your server locally, not using Connect (which can't have been set up yet), and not using the Emby website?  You have to do that to set up everything else.

Remember, Plex likes you to use its systems, whereas Emby is providing you with a system that works for you without any central help.

Adding a library is not the first thing to do - first you must get the server set up so that you can connect to it (which is what you are failing to do).  So first you must run the startup wizard - which normally starts automatically after installation, but can be run manually.

Instructions are here.

If you have trouble with the wizard, come back and tell us what you tried and what resulted - in excruciating detail so that we can be fully aware what's happening.

I have tried repeatedly to set up the media server but using support article (https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159319-library-setup) which states to setup the media library click the button. I have tried all the buttons on the page and nothing happens. That is why I started this topic and have yet found an answer or a workaround to setup the media library.

What everyone here (including myself) fails to realize is why can't you just connect to local IP:port and setup the server, and then setup all the other things (libraries, access, link to Connect account...) afterwards.

That said, as @Happy2Play stated, you have left your server wide open for anyone to access/setup and practically hijack, as you have not completed Startup wizard. If I remote into your server, I can see wizard is still active and have no issues getting Library created:

Edit: @Luke, maybe option to link Connect account/enable Port Mapper should be removed from startup wizard as that would force users to setup things locally (or at least complete startup wizard) before exposing themselves and potentially avoid these kind of situations? Atm OP's server is ripe for the picking, and lots of malicious folks in the wild.

It actually doesn't serve a purpose during setup other than expose the new admin to Emby Connect which probably isn't a good thing at this point in setup.

I thought I had setup the server on my TV, but I guess I didn't do it right so I have decided to start all over fresh.  I will go thru the help articles from the beginning and start all over.
