Doctor Who (classic) management

Hi All,

Lots of good Doctor Who stuff going on lately, so seems like a good time to ask.

How do people handle Doctor Who classic management?

It doesn't fit well with the standard TV management, because each 'episode' is broken up into multiple parts.  Sometimes 4, sometimes 6 etc.

Also - bonus question - how do you manage the TV movie?

Thanks!

This is pretty much how I do it as well. For the movies I check to see if it is listed under "Specials" on tvdb and if not it goes into my collection as a standard movie.

I have mine set up as reflected on TheTVDB here. I keep the Doctor Who movies listed under Specials.

I have each video file listed as a separate episode, regardless of whether it is just part of a longer "story".  Thus, some seasons have up to 45 episodes.

As for the movie, I created a folder called Movie inside my Doctor Who (Classic) TV show folder.  Then created a Doctor Who (1996) folder inside that with the movie XML file.  It doesn't look as nice as the movies in my Movie collection, but it works.

I remember in the old Forum, Luke mentioned that in the future it might be possible to "link" movies in the Movies collection to TV series similar to the way that Soundtracks can be linked to Movies and TV shows.  That would be great!

Wow - I feel silly now - how obvious :)

Thanks all for the input!

In order to differentiate the original series from the new one, I had to put the year in after the show name in the folder. Everything has been working fine for me.

It took me days to rename all my doctor who to match the TVDB listings. Hopefully your experience isn't so painful.
