Thanks for the responses. I think I may have solved my issue. Ticking the option 'deinterlace SD content' in the Fire TV app menu seems to make the lines go away. I will investigate further and report back.

Attached are some logs from this morning

ffmpeg-directstream-e424831d-7f57-4df1-8b57-5aa402313a8c_1.txt is playback with default settings, which produces diagonal green and red lines

ffmpeg-transcode-4d991eaf-b643-4a2f-9fce-1017fa4487c3_1.txt is playback of the same file with 'deinterlace SD content' enabled which removes the lines, but the resulting screen image seems to be degraded in image quality with a lot of compression artefacts

Can you try updating to the latest version of the sideload build?

Been awhile since I posted this issue. Accidentally found a "fix".(quotes emphasized)

When subtitles [EnglishDVDSUB] are selected(standard def media,720 &480 rez) the distorted green lines disappear and the picture appearance is normal.
